MLC 2006
MLC inspections on yachts.
Check crew working and living conditions under the Maritime Labour Convention and record the results alongside your ISM and ISPS audits.
What MLC 2006 covers
The Maritime Labour Convention 2006 (MLC) of the International Labour Organization sets minimum standards for seafarers' working and living conditions: employment agreements, hours of work and rest, accommodation, food, medical care and complaint procedures, among others.
Ships of 500 GT and above on international voyages need a Maritime Labour Certificate and a Declaration of Maritime Labour Compliance (DMLC).
The convention itself does not prescribe internal audits. Many flag States, however, require internal MLC inspections at regular intervals, and combining them with ISM and ISPS audits is common practice.
This page is a general overview, not legal advice. The applicable requirements depend on the flag State and the yacht's certification.

How ISMyAudit supports MLC inspections
Structured on board
Work section by section and mark each item OK, NC, OBS or N/A, with notes where they matter.
Combined visits
Add ISM, ISPS and MLC to the same project when you cover them in one visit on board.
Report on completion
Cover sheet, checklist pages and the non-conformities and observations end up in one PDF.
Your own checklist
With Premium, your organisation's own versioned checklist replaces the standard checklist.
